Bamboo Tokyo

In July 2021 I created an Olympics logo in support of the black female American athletes qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics. Led by Sha-Carri Richardson's sudden burst onto the scene ;it seemed as if these women had super powers.

"BAMBOO EARRINGS AT LEAST TWO PAIR..."

The bamboo earring is such a significant symbol in black culture. It's one of hip-hop's favorite piece of jewelry making an appearance on plenty of big records by stars such as LL Cool J.

Social Media Impact

I knew this design would get a great reaction, but these social media numbers surprised me. A lot of people mentioned how this design touched them on an emotional level. A few past and present female Olympians acknowledged the design as well.
